In answer to your question, the best way to do this is find someone who is successful and review their bio. Then, write your bio in a similar style. When you write a bio guard against what I call the “community theatre” syndome. That is don’t toot your own horn, even if you’ve earned it. e.g. I would avoid something like this, “Shanna is so pretty in The Sound of Music that Julie Andrews would be envious.” Just stay with a biographical sketch. Most people organize their credits chronologically, but that’s not necessary. You can group credits by the type of work.

If you’re wondering where to find a bio, just do a web search for any major writer, or look up the writer on wikipedia.com As a matter of fact the Wikipedia article on Julia Andrews makes a great example.
